Flowerd is an app that helps florists manage the inventory of their stores.
The main goals are to determine if the users can complete a product update or addition as well as checking for the products statistics and to determine if the inventory app is difficult to use.
Initial user research on this topic highlights that lose flowers can become difficult & overwhelming to store, keeping the stock up to date in writting can be sometimes stressful and that digital databases can’t be kept up to date live.
Paulina & Pablo have allowed me to get a deeper look into the potential users lifestyle, characteristics, goals and frustrations. This is done through the creation of fictional personas that are based on the reflections and learnings from the user research that was carried out previously.
Now comes my favourite part, building the design. I first started with paper wireframes, which allowed me to diverge into severall different layout posibilities for the structure of the app. Above you can see some of the variations that I sketched out.
Next came going digital! As much as Persona 2 needs his business to be more digital, these sketches have to go virtual too! In comes low fidelity wireframing with a set of digital sketches above. A prototype was created after this and the improvements are shown just bellow.
Creating the final high fidelity prototypes took a few more steps than the initially anticipated, but a nice result ended up showing up. You can see the results above.
A design guide was also created to be used as the pillars of the graphic design development. Clicking here, you will be directed to a separate page that focuses more on the brands identity.
The first image shows some of the connections between the different pages of the high fidelity prototype.
My key takeaway was to realise that if I had any questions about what next steps I had to take with the design process, I should rely on research, past or new, to make those decisions.
